Elizabeth Scarpelli

Director, University of Cincinnati Press & CLIPS
Elizabeth Scarpelli has been part of the higher education and scholarly publishing industry for the last 35 years. She is currently founding director and acquiring editor of the University of Cincinnati Press and Cincinnati Library Publishing Services and sits on the board of Library Publisher Coalition and Midwest Independent Publishers Association. In her current role, Liz has expanded her publishing experience by adding journals, open access, and open educational resources to the types of content she publishes. She believes that open access non-fiction works can mirror real-time scholarly dialog with the right platform and by writing the narrative with open access in mind from the start. Open access improves the written narrative, reader understanding, and discoverability of information while shrinking the distance between authors and their audiences.
