Karen Stanwood is Director, Electronic Publishing and Production, Health Care Books and Journals at SLACK Incorporated. Her role focuses on overseeing and refining journal production workflows, managing technical implementation for vendor/partner content and metadata distribution, enhancing peer review system workflows, and writing and instituting internal standard operating procedures. She is Deputy Co-Chair of the Society for Scholarly Publishing’s Career Development Committee where she helps manage the Mentorship Program and oversees New Initiatives. She is also a member of the Council of Science Editors (serving on the Professional Development Committee) and the International Society of Managing and Technical Editors.
