Sarah Levine is a journals publisher at Oxford University Press, where she manages a list of 15 society-owned social science journals. Her responsibilities center on relationship development and maintenance, and in her role she advises societies and editors on evolving publishing trends, including journal sales models and funding policies; analyzes competitive positioning; and prepares bids for journal acquisition. Prior to joining OUP in January of this year, Levine worked for eight years at the American Academy of Religion, where she was initially hired as a publishing and external relations associate and eventually ran the Academy’s small publications department, which publishes a peer-reviewed journal and five book series in partnership with OUP, and launched a born-digital self-published book review website in 2017.
