  • Managing Director, Gunter Media Group

    Darrell is an accomplished digital publishing executive and has been at the forefront of new technology initiatives at Dow Jones Financial News Services, Elsevier, Collexis, and the American Institute of Physics. Since 2010, his consultancy firm, Gunter Media Group, Inc., has advised CEOs from startups to large companies, and he is an operating partner with TriArtisan Capital in New York. He is an adjunct professor at the Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business, where he teaches Professional Sales to both undergraduate and graduate students. He is a published author of the edited volume "Transforming Scholarly Research with Blockchain Technologies and AI." His other publications can be accessed on his ORCID profile. He graduated from Seton Hall University's W. Paul Stillman School of Business (BS Business Administration- Marketing) and Lake Forest Graduate School of Management (MBA). Darrell serves on several non-profit boards: Humane Society of the United States, USA Boxing Foundation, Wissahickon Trails, Global DARE, and Montgomery County Community College Foundation. In his spare time, he and his wife Deb enjoy their fur babies, three cats, Shadeux, Milo, and Boots, and their active Border Collie, Rylee.
  • Founder and CEO of Academic Language Experts

    Avi Staiman is the founder and CEO of Academic Language Experts, an author services company dedicated to leveling the research playing field for ESL scholars. He is also the co-founder of SciWriter.ai, the first co-pilot that helps researchers supercharge their writing with responsible AI. Avi is involved in the scholarly publication community as a chef at Scholarly Kitchen, co-host of the New Books Network ‘Scholarly Communication’ Podcast, and as a reviewer for Wiley’s Learned Publishing journal. Avi is a thought leader on AI tools for research, bridging the gap between publishers and authors and how to support and empower ESL researchers. He is a core member of CANGARU, where he represents EASE in creating legislation and policy for the responsible use of AI in research. He has been a guest lecturer at NYU’s Master’s Program in Translation & Interpreting and the University of Tokyo. His essays have appeared in the Cambridge University Press Blog, The Scholarly Kitchen, Multilingual, and Times Higher Education.
  • VP Product, Silverchair

    As Vice President of Product, Hannah Heckner works to inform, prioritize, and execute on the Silverchair Platform Development Plan, as well as oversee the development of new Silverchair products. This includes serving as a representative of Silverchair’s product function at client, sales, and industry meetings; evaluating requests for platform enhancement and new features; facilitating Publisher Working Groups that discuss industry trends, publisher needs, and developing Silverchair solutions; and managing vendor relationships and internal implementation for 3rd party integrations. She has worked within academic publishing for over 10 years and has experience with both commercial and non-profit publishing and is a proud Member-at-Large of the Society for Scholarly Publishing Board of Directors.

    Vida Damijonaitis is the Director of Worldwide Sales at the American Medical Association where she is responsible for all content sales and sales development efforts for the JAMA Network journals, including licensing, aggregation, circulation, permissions and new products. Prior to her current position, she was the Marketing Manager for the JAMA and Archives journals and Marketing Manager at Consumers Digest Magazine. She holds a BS degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a MS degree from Roosevelt University, and a MBA from Northwestern University.
  • Founder/CEO, LibLynx

    Tim Lloyd is founder and CEO of LibLynx, a business helping publishers, service providers and libraries to manage identity and access to online resources, and better understand the usage and impact of those resources. Tim is a member of the Governance committee and co-Chair of the Outreach committee for SeamlessAccess.org, and a member of COUNTER’s Open Access/Unpaywalled sub-group. His career spans several decades in a variety of product development and operational roles in online publishing, with a particular focus on developing innovative products and services to support online learning and research.
