About the session
AI adoption in scholarly publishing has moved quickly from experimentation to real use. Yet in an industry where precision, consistency & trust are non-negotiable, making AI work reliably matters more than making AI impressive.
In this session, we'll share our journey of moving AI from prototypes into production. As AI shifts from assistive tools to more autonomous behaviour, we observe risk, confidence & accountability change in subtle but important ways.
We will share concrete examples using our products of how deliberate design choices, clear boundaries, and operating decisions have helped optimize for trust, accountability, & long-term value. Attendees will also hear from peer societies about their experience using these products - what worked, what surprised them & the outcomes they achieved.
Attendees will leave with a clearer way to think about AI adoption in their own organizations, balancing progress with integrity & gaining insight into why, in scholarly publishing, AI works best when it's intentionally boring.
