Dan is the Chief Digital Officer at Delta Think. His strength lies in helping publishing companies successfully explore and exploit new digital opportunities, through his combination of commercial expertise and technical understanding. Dan is also the principal architect of the Delta Think Open Access Data & Analytics Tool and supports market intelligence and strategy projects related to Open Access. Over the last 20 years, Dan has specialized in digital publishing strategy and product innovation for companies primarily in STM and Legal publishing. He has held executive leadership and strategic advisory roles, and senior positions managing products, operations and change in organizations ranging from dot-coms to complex corporates. His expertise includes the establishment of new business units and product management functions in large organizations, handling digital extensions to flagship brands, the implementation of analytics and social media practice and policies, business and price modeling, interfacing between business and technology functions, and strategic advisory services. Prior to joining Delta Think, Dan most recently was part of the leadership team of Jordan Publishing Ltd through its successful sale to LexisNexis (RELX). He has also previously worked for Macmillan Publishers (Nature Publishing Group), Outsell Inc., RELX (Elsevier Health Sciences, LexisNexis), Times Mirror International Publishers.

Dominic brings over 25 years of experience working with the publisher and library communities. He oversees operations and the development of the DOAJ platform. Dominic also serves as the Committee chair for the Think. Check. Submit. initiative, a founding organization of DOAJ. Additionally, he represents DOAJ in Project JASPER, a cross-industry project focused on ensuring the long-term preservation of journals. Dominic also serves as the Chair of the OASPA Board of Directors. In his spare time, he enjoys caring for his twin sons and cultivating his vinyl record collection.

Julia Kostova, PhD, is Director of Publishing and head of the US division at Frontiers, the 3rd most cited and 6th largest scholarly publisher in the world. In this role, Dr Kostova leads Frontiers’ strategy in the US with the mission of making science open, accessible, and trustworthy, supporting researchers, authors, and institutions in this transition. In her role, she is also actively engaged in science and technology policy, advocating for support for sustainable open science and investment to build trust in science. With Frontiers being a pioneer in AI in the scholarly publishing industry, Dr Kostova has spoken at leading forums and events about the myriads of ways in which this technology will transform the knowledge landscape. A 20-year veteran of the publishing industry, Dr Kostova has worked at leading publishing houses like Wiley’s Global Research Division and Oxford University Press. Dr Kostova is a strong advocate of cultivating and mentoring women executives and leaders, having held a fellowship at Women in Power at 92Y in New York City. She holds a PhD in French literature from Rutgers University, and has taught at Columbia and Rutgers Universities for over a decade.

Meagan is the Communications Director for the Science family of journals, where she oversees efforts to boost the visibility of all forthcoming Science family of journal content for reporters worldwide. Prior to joining AAAS in 2013, she served as a senior writer at AIR Worldwide, where she interacted with more than 65 Ph.D.-level scientists and engineers to communicate advances in wind engineering, seismology, climate science, and other fields. Previously, she was a senior writer and editor at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Meagan holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Spanish from Gettysburg College, and a Master's degree in Science Writing from The Johns Hopkins University. In 2008, Meagan received a Fulbright Scholarship to work with Dr. Juan Antonio Raga at the University of Valencia to help determine the cause of morbillivirus resurgence among small cetaceans in the Mediterranean. Meagan also completed science-reporting internships with Science as well as National Public Radio and has freelanced for various outlets including Anesthesiology News.

Dr. Subhani is an award-winning editor. He is doing a post-doctorate in open science with Federal University of Goias, Brazil and holds a PhD from Iqra University, Pakistan, in financial econometrics. Dr. Subhani is an ambassador for the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) and a professor and Dean of the Business School at ILMA University, Pakistan. He also volunteers for the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) as an education committee member, while he is also a member of Creative Commons Global Network, CC Open GLAM, and Research Data Publishing Ethics, FORCE 11. He is a scientific publishing consultant and a technical committee member of HEC Journals’ Recognition System at the Higher Education Commission, Government of Pakistan. Dr. Subhani is also an editor at PLOS ONE. He is a prolific scientific author of around 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Todd Carpenter currently serves as Executive Director of the National Information Standards Organization (NISO), a non-profit association that develops and maintains standards for the creation, persistent management, and effective interchange of information. In this role, he works with organizations across the publishing, library and software provider communities, building coalitions to improve efficiency in systems to deliver content to users. Prior to joining NISO, Todd was Director of Business Development at BioOne. He also held management positions at The Johns Hopkins University Press, the Energy Intelligence Group, and the Haworth Press. He has served on the Boards of several industry and community organizations, including FORCE11, the Baltimore County Public Library, the Book Industry Study Group and the Society for Scholarly Publishing. He contributes regularly as a Chef on the Scholarly Kitchen and is author of dozens of papers on library and publishing systems. He is presently writing a book on our everyday interactions with metadata. Todd is a graduate of Syracuse University and holds a masters degree in business from the Johns Hopkins University.
